Intro to TV Broadcasting
4th Term (2009-2010 School Year) 2nd Period

1st, 2nd, 3rd Term | Study Guide (click on "Broadcasting" tab) | Media Release Form

Thur., Apr. 29 through Wed., May 5, 2010

In class, you received a tutorial on using Final Cut Pro for editing. This software was specifically purchased for the TV studio. Since this is new to all of us, we will need to teach ourselves and each other how to use this software. For this purpose, I am putting together links on the tutorial page to help us. In your Movies folder is a Broadcast Editing Practice folder with video shot in the first semester. Use these files to edit together a news broadcast. I will come around and grade you on your progress in learning editing in Final Cut Pro on Thursday, May 13, 2010.

Mon., Apr. 19 through Tue., Apr. 27, 2010

Today I will be accepting scripts from grading. When you are not in production, you need to read Ch. 8 in the textbook on sound.

Thursday, April 15, 2010

Broadcast as usual. Those not in the production team will need to take this test. Those on the production team will take the test after they are done in the studio. You may use your notes, you may NOT use the book or my web site. [Keep in mind that you may not use anything on the final exam in May.] The test is only 15 questions so take your time.

Friday, April 9, 2010

Broadcast as usual. If it's an assembly day, keep in mind the class time is shorter. If you are not in production, you should keep reading and taking notes on Ch. 4. There may be a test on that chapter on Tuesday or Thursday.

Mon., Apr. 5 through Wed., Apr. 7, 2010

Spring Break is never nearly long enough, is it?

Let's start the new term with turning in scripts, a regular broadcast. And then, when you are done, start reading Ch. 4 in the textbook on Analog vs. Digital television.
