Coursework Procedure:
Now it's time to see what you know about management. This assignment is a current events (or recent events) research assignment. You must find an instance of management failure and report about it to the class. The requirements are as follows:

  • Company name
  • Industry
  • Nature of failure
    • Explain the failure. What led up to the failure and what happened.
    • Which management principle, etc. (strategic management, operational management, human resources management, financial management, etc.), was involved in this failure?
  • Corrective action taken?
  • People involved
    • Their duties/position in the company
    • Their part in the failure
  • Results

You will report your findings to the class. You may use PowerPoint if you like. You must submit something to me for grading. (Either a report or your presentation).

Due Date(s) and Submission Instructions:
This assignment is due by the end of class on Wednesday, May 19, 2010. Presentations will be given on Friday, May 21, 2010 and/or Tuesday, May 25, 2010.
